In a bid to safeguard the interests of the NRIs in Punjab, state government today directed the officials to dispose their pending property cases fast.
Punjab NRI affairs minister Balbir Singh Bath here asked the state officials to look into the property cases of the NRIs lying pending with the Fast Track Revenue Courts.
The Minister said that camps are being organised in six most affected districts of the state where the grievances of the NRIs would be redressed on the spot.
In order to protect their properties in Punjab, East Punjab Rent Act has been amended, he said.
Every district in Punjab has separate revenue court for the NRIs, Bath said, adding that exclusive NRI police stations have been setup in six districts having predominant NRI population.
